“Most of all I just love people and love photography”

profile_150 Yesterday Danish  photojournalist  Christian Als came to “…Graphy” , so we had 3 hour interesting talk. He came to Kyrgyzstan to take pictures for his personal project.  His works centers on as He calls it  ”CONCERNED PHOTOGRAPHY”  He has worked in countries like Haiti, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, China, Tibet, DR Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Latvia, India & etc…

After videos, photos and stories about the places He has been, people He met, sorrow, dangers He faced, challenges He had to overcome, how much Photojournalist becomes involved into  the lives and disasters He shoots, you realize how much is put into each photo, story. But as He says His work  motivate people to help, to act, to do something useful for such people in troubles. Push to the solution of environmental issues, human issues.  And His great contribution is may be seen in publications of His works in “TIME”, “The New Yorker”, “The Sunday Times Magazine”,” GEO”, “Stern”, “Der Spiegel”,” The Wall Street Journal”,” L’espresso”,” D La Repubblica delle donne”,” Internazionale”, “El Pais Semanal”, “Shanghai Daily”, “De Volkskrant”,” Artbeat Magazine”, “Gatsby magazine”,” K Magazine”,” Christian Science Monitor”, “Vision Magazine”.

The vast Kibati refugee camp of flimsy plastic and banana-leaf shelters is sandwiched between the UN and the areas the rebels control. If fighting resumes, Kibati will be the front line - a prospect that would almost certainly mean horrific civilian casualties.

“I love to undertake social and humanitarian projects around the world, and like the journey a photographic project can turn into over time. Most of all I just love people and love photography.”

Refugees in the Pabbo IDP camp are waiting in line to get their monthly food aid from WFP. Today, as the conflict continues into its 20th year, there has been a sharp increase in the number of rebel attacks, leading to roughly a doubling in the population of the IDP camps.

In my tiny years when my father was still a student,He was passionate about Photography, even had several cameras buying them for last soviet coins, so later on when we were quite adult to listen and understand Him,  He’d tell us about stories of photographers and photojournalists. That time I was very much impressed, having a dream to become a photojournalist to show people about disasters happening around the World, to show My unknown Country to the World, to show rural problems to people (I thought that’s not seen and there so called”Fairy people” who could discover rural problems through my shots and would come to change everything ).
I imagined myself to be a journalist or photojournalist, going and taking pictures of wars, happening all over the World.
…  but then You begin realize how high is the cost of   PhotoJournalism. Especially, after today’s talk confirmed that. It is aa lot of work, strong nerves, ability to stay neutral, courage, courage, and courage. And may be the work too hard for a female being, but still: there great female photojournalists. But can I handle such a high cost?

Possible, no. How I could take a photo of  a dying little girl, or a guy who was searching for his dead Dad’s body, seeing the children dying from starving, soldier shooting the old lady, walk above the thousands of dead bodies…….take a shot of all and not be able to to help.

Comparing contribution of these people into the peace, better life, their not being indifferent to world disasters, you feel how tiny you r and all your life-work….

Думаю после наших тысячных переездов они куда-то делись… зато сохранились почти все пленки 20 летней давности, хотя наверное за такой период снимки на них смываются…
